ldapvi software package provides perform an LDAP search and update results using a text editor, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ldapvi
ldapvi is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ldapvi package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ldapvi *
You will get with ldapvi package name, version, architecture and description in a table
